Job Summary: SGS Petroleum Service Corporation, the leader in the petrochemical material handling industry, is growing and looking for individuals to join our team at a brand new, state-of-the-art chemical plant / packaging facility in the Baytown, Texas area. These Warehouse Forklift Operators are regular full-time (not temporary) positions with opportunities for cross-training, career growth, and advancement. No experience required (we pay for on-the-job training). These positions work in an industrial environment with an automated product packaging line and are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of palletized product within the facility and throughout the outdoor storage yard. Pay: $14 - $16/hr. depending on experience.

Work Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts with every other weekend off (includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with built-in overtime).

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Monitors supply of packaging material at the bagging lines
  • Unloads incoming trucks with packaging material
  • Inspects containers prior to loading product
  • Loads sea bulk containers with palletized product
  • Follows vehicle mounted terminal (VMT)
  • Moves packaging materials in stock
  • Registers and monitors inventory
  • Monitors and reports operational activities
  • Performs routine quality checks to endure accuracy and consistency
  • Ensures clean work space
  • Check of forklift as per the checklist providedPerforms periodic

Skills/Qualifications: Must have the ability to speak, write, read, hear and have good vision. Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of said PPE. The physical requirements for a warehouse technician include the following: Lift 60 pounds floor to waist, push and pull 30 pounds horizontally, carry 20 pounds while walking, climb stairs, stand 8-12 hours per day, climb ladders, extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting.

Minimum Job Requirements: Driver’s license required; 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.; stable work history with good references from past employers; pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
