Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team at a brand-new, Greenfield petrochemical plant in Baytown, TX that will showcase state-of-the-art equipment and modern technology. This career opportunity initially starts with the development of plans, systems, and procedures to meet the core objectives of facility operations. Ultimately the individual will play an integral role within the Maintenance Department as a Maintenance Planner by improving the productivity and work quality of the Maintenance Department by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordinating of manpower, parts and materials, and equipment access. The Maintenance Planner will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Work Order System and documentation related to equipment and equipment history. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, understands, drawings including PFDs, ISOs and P&ID's.
  • In depth understanding of Lock Out Tag Out procedures/activities.
  • Adheres to site permitting requirements.
  • Maintains and updates a Computerized Maintenance Management System (eMaint). Including creates and updates assets as well as supporting documentation, creates PM schedules, creates work orders, updates job status, pulls parts from stock, and gives detailed project closeout descriptions.
  • Obtain and organize all information, parts and tools required for the crafts to perform the work: drawings, vendor manual, drawings, notes or any instructional material for clarity. Information and parts to be referenced through the CMMS system.
  • Identify and updated missing procedures, additional parts, tool lists, or other improvements that need implementation before the work is assigned next time.
  • Effectively communicate/coordinate with maintenance, operations, vendors and contractors to ensure each area gets the needed maintenance service in a timely manner.
  • Ability to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job and must be able to visualize and communicate the execution of work.
  • Support the maintenance and operations groups to improve shutdown efficiencies and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Assists in setting up and training new users.
  • Work safely keeping your own and others personal wellbeing in mind always.
  • Provides support and input to peers on the team.
  • Partakes in regularly scheduled Plant, Maintenance (including regular maintenance short and long-term planning), and Safety meetings.
  • Shares information/best practices/lessons learned with peers and supervision.
  • Seeks input and collaboration on difficult issues and problems.
  • Participates in any appropriate cross functional teams.
  • Embraces Process Safety Management and the Management of Change concept.
  • Provide field assistance and cover mechanical and I&E position(s) during times of vacancies such as call-offs and vacations as needed.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, Holidays and on-call schedules if required.
  • Note: The facility is a tobacco free/electronic cigarette free workplace.
Job Qualifications:
  • Experience in the petrochemical / industrial industry. “Hands on” mechanical and electrical experience required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects and keep them progressing to completion.
  • Experience in using/maintaining a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) required (preferably Maximo or eMaint).
  • Experience in relevant technical aspects including PSM compliance, DOT pipeline maintenance, liquefied gas storage, facility maintenance and basic chemical manufacturing processes are preferred
  • Experience / familiarity with full array of permit requirements associated with petrochemical plant operation
  • Possess strong communication (written / verbal) skills
  • Most have strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Intermediate or Expert Level knowledge in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in project management and planning plant turn-arounds strongly preferred.
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
