Description

Job Title:  Dispatcher/Marine Coordinator    
 
Business Unit:  SGS Petroleum Service Corporation
 
Department:  1700
 
Primary Responsibilities:  Provides customer service to both internal and external customers by receiving telephone calls in our 24-hour dispatch communication center.  Takes work orders from customers and dispatches employees (Tankermen) to complete those jobs in a timely manner.
 
Reporting to:  Dispatch Manager
 
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Answers phone calls and takes work orders from our external customers.
  • Enters work orders into the computer system.
  • Dispatches Tankermen to specific worksites.
  • Collects job related information from the Tankerman once that job is completed.
  • Enters job related information into job records in the computer system.

  • Problem solver
  • Ability to multi-task, such as answering multiple phone calls while entering computer data.
  • People skills, including patience to deal with customers, employees, and co-workers.
  • Exceptional customer service with both internal and external customers (ability to maintain professional and working relationship with customers and employees).
  • Exceptional communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate information to relief dispatchers at shift turnover.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to learn the computer database and understand how to receive, enter, and dispatch job orders using the database.
  • Ability to learn customer and area-specific requirements and keep up with changes or new procedures.
  • Ability to logically dispatch each job so that the work force is dispersed fairly and to the best advantage of all involved.
  • Ability to work a 12 hour rotating day and night shift.
