Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is seeking a Chemical Plant Packaging Operator to work in a world-leading petrochemical plant that manufactures high-tech polymer (plastics/resins) in Hebron, OH. Pay: $15.00 - 19.00/Hour

Work Schedule: 10-12 hr. Straight Days, Straight Nights, OR Rotating Shifts (Includes Days and Nights)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receives incoming shipments of plastic pellets from hopper railcars on the rail tracks to offload
  • Connects hoses to the hopper railcars to offload the plastic pellets by a vacuum system to be transferred into a silo
  • Monitors silo levels daily before unloading railcars to ensure material inventory is adequate for production
  • Sets up the automated packaging machine by hooking up attachments to containers for the loading of plastic pellets
  • Monitors an automated packaging machine that loads product from the silo into gaylord boxes, super sacks and / or bulk bags
  • Sets up the automated conveyor system to feed all finished containers to the warehouse for shipping
  • Obtains samples during the packaging process and examines for any contamination
  • Troubleshoots and manually packs finished containers or rejected material when necessary
  • Utilizes the SAP computer system to create labels, print and apply them to finished containers
  • Counts inventory of packaging materials on a weekly and monthly basis by filling out an inventory spreadsheet
  • Cleans and washes out silos on a periodic basis as needed
  • Communicates with team members in the packaging operation via radio to report operational activities
  • Cross trains to operate a forklift and move product in / around the facility
  • Ensures a safe and clean work environment by participating in all housekeeping
  • Completes any other duties as assigned in order to perform the job
Job Qualifications:
  • 1 or more years' experience in a chemical plant, industrial, warehouse, technician or manufacturing work environment is a plus, but not required
    1 or more years' experience operating a machine, packaging or forklift operation is a plus, but not required
  • Must be able to follow OSHA safety standards and be safety conscious at all times
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 60 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 30 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Stand 8-12 hours per day
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
