Job Title:  Training & Safety Clerk

Hourly or Salary: Hourly

Primary Responsibilities:  Assists with all clerical duties for Training & Safety Coordinator

Secondary Responsibilities:  Assists with clerical duties for Site Supervisor as work load permits

Reporting to:  Training & Safety Coordinator, SGS PSC

Specific Primary Responsibilities:
  • Filing/Recordkeeping
    • Maintain SGS employee training files, including Coast Guard, FRA, BOE, DOT training records
    • Update training matrix as determined by Training & Safety Coordinator
    • Assist Training & Safety Coordinator with generating loader test, actual testing, and filing of tests
    • Receive monthly safety observations for entire site and compile into usable data for site management to analyze
    • Maintain and distribute current employee site roster and phone list to CF Industries
    • File weekly Safety Inspection Sheets
    • Purge files as necessary when required duration has expired
  • SOP’s/Training
    • Become familiar with CF SOP Writer’s Guide procedure
    • Generate SOP’s into CF format
    • Update current SOP’s as revisions are required
    • Assist Training & Safety Coordinator in preparing Powerpoint presentations for training
    • Compiles and completes month-end/quarterly Training & Safety reports; prints and emails copies
  • Clerical
    • Makes copies, send faxes, and types memos
    • Prepare quality reports for incident investigations
    • Prepare new employee orientation packets
    • Generate spreadsheets to document and track loader performance
Specific Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Assist Site Supervisor with any clerical duties required during periods of slow activity.  Slow activity to be determined by the Training & Safety Coordinator and the clerical duties to be determined by the site supervisor as deemed necessary.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to all procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and or 20 lbs. of force frequently to move objects.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear and climb stairs daily
