Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation, an SGS Company the leader in the petrochemical material handling industry, is growing and looking for individuals to join our team at a brand new, state-of-the-art chemical plant / packaging facility in the Baytown, Texas area. These positions are regular full-time (not temporary) positions with opportunities for cross-training, career growth, and advancement. No experience required (we pay for on-the-job training). These positions work in an industrial environment and are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the automated packaging line and equipment, movement of palletized product with a forklift, and inspection of palletized product in the outdoor storage yard. Starting Rate Pay: $14.61 - $16.70/hr. depending on experience.

Specific Responsibilities: Warehouse Associates are responsible for performing one or more of the following tasks:

Packaging Machine Operations:

  • Operates bulk loading station with all associated equipment
  • Feeds packaging materials and consumables to bagging lines and bulk loading station
  • Operates bagging lines with all associated equipment
  • Checks machine parameter settings
  • Ensures execution of all operations with minimal product loss
  • Ensures cleanliness of work space
  • Reworks weight rejected material
  • Monitors and reports operational activities

Forklift Operations:

  • Unloads incoming trucks with packaging material
  • Inspects containers prior to loading product
  • Loads sea bulk containers in the outdoor storage yard with palletized product
  • Moves packaging materials in stock
  • Registers and monitors inventory
  • Monitors and reports operational activities
  • Performs routine quality checks to endure accuracy and consistency
  • Ensures clean work space
  • Check of forklift as per the checklist provided
Work Schedule: 12 hour rotating shift (Days/nights/weekends/holidays) OR 10 hour shift Monday - Friday, depending on position/crew.

Preferred Job Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will have one or more of the following qualifications below. However, we are also willing to provide on-the-job training.
  • 1 or more years’ experience in a chemical plant, industrial, warehouse or manufacturing work environment is a plus.
  • 1 or more years' experience operating a forklift or pallet jack to move and store material.
  • 1 or more years’ experience working in an environment related to a distribution center, back room storage facility or loading dock area where materials are unloaded/loaded.
  • Military experience and a good understanding of following procedures is a great benefit.
                                                                
Skills/Qualifications: Must have the ability to speak, write, read, hear and have good vision. Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of said PPE. The physical requirements for a material handler include the following: Lift 60 pounds floor to waist, push and pull 30 pounds horizontally, carry 20 pounds while walking, climb stairs, stand 8-12 hours per day, climb ladders, extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting.

Minimum Job Requirements: Driver's license required; 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.; stable work history with good references from past employers; pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
