Job Summary: Senior level packaging expert who can quickly assess existing or potential problems in packaging operations, develop plans in close coordination with customer and PSC leadership, and implement – either in reaction to known issue or (preferably) proactively before they occur. Must be able to understand specific packaging equipment issues and more complex, system related issues involving staffing skills, organization structure or processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers and PSC teams on the floor to identify packaging process bottlenecks and put specific plans in place to improve. Implement, monitor and adjust those plans.
  • Work with customers and PSC teams to troubleshoot packaging equipment issues and develop plans to safely and efficiently operate when simply procuring new equipment is not an option.
  • Assess steady state operations in packaging for efficiency improvements.
  • Assess new packaging operations and jointly build commissioning / staffing plans with PSC teams and customer. Recognize when external expertise will be required – be able to recommend specific external expertise based on type of issues (current or forecasted for future).
  • Work with packaging equipment vendors – engineering teams in particular – to effectively translate (and develop) troubleshooting plans to practical procedures for PSC teams on the floor.
Job Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience in packaging and logistics.
  • Strong understanding of packaging processes and equipment. Experience with a range of packaging systems and processes is critical.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; experience doing so in complex operations
  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to effectively communicate with everyone from PSC team on the shop floor to customer plant manager
  • Must possess a valid TWIC card & driver’s license.
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
