We are growing and looking for individuals to join our team at a terminal operation in Beaumont, TX. These positions are regular full-time (not temporary) positions with opportunities for cross-training, career growth, and advancement. Experience is not always required (we provide on-the-job training). These positions work in an industrial environment and are responsible for the safe and efficient Railcar Loading, Rail Switching, Dock Operations, Tank Farm Operations and Board Operations. Starting Rate Pay: Between $18.00-$27.00/Hour (depending on experience)

Primary Responsibilities: Safely performs rail switching and offloads crude oil from railcars and tank trucks, monitors and controls pipe line-ups, tank levels and pumps, and/or serves as person in charge of marine dock by ensuring the safe transfer of products to and from barges.

Specific Responsibilities: Terminal Operators are responsible for performing one or more of the following tasks:

Railcar Offloading / Switching:

  • Operate locomotive and/or perform rail switching to separate inbound cars and spot for discharge.

  • Ensures that all cars which have been spotted are properly secured by means of setting the brake.

  • Matches loading schedule to bill of lading.

  • Steams rail cars as necessary.

  • Fills out loading record.

  • Ensures that railcar is positioned and secured at proper transfer rack.

  • Visually inspects the railcar to be involved in the upcoming transfer in order to ensure that it is mechanically sound and there is no defective equipment before unloading.

  • Checks outbound cars in order to ensure that all cars are properly connected.

Board Operations:

  • Documents all procedures used during production process.

  • Monitors production process by setting and programming controls; watching gauge levels; operating computer console.

  • Ensures proper operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; reporting malfunctioning units.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations; patrolling unit.

  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Dock Operations:

  • Meets with the person-in-charge of the vessel for a pre-transfer conference in order to determine the facility’s expectations as well as what is required and expected from the person-in-charge of the vessel in order to accomplish the transfer in a safe and uninterrupted manner.

  • Familiarizes the facility piping layout in order to ensure that the proper product and pipeline configuration is being utilized in the transfer.

  • Maintains detailed dock logs to ensure all events are recorded in chronological order.

  • Operates crane, hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical equipment in order to place the dock arm/hose in the best possible position to connect the dock arm/hose to the vessel.

  • Communicates with facility personnel via radio and/or telephone in order to advise as to current status of transfer and report any problems that may occur.
Tank Farm Operations included.

Work Schedule:
12-hour rotating shifts with every other weekend off (includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with built-in overtime).
                                                                

Skills/Qualifications: Must have the ability to speak, write, read, hear and have good vision. Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of said PPE. The physical requirements for a loader include the following: Lift 50 pounds floor to waist, push and pull 50 pounds horizontally, carry 20 pounds while walking, climb stairs, climb ladders, extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting.

Minimum Job Requirements: 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.; stable work history with good references from past employers; pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
