Job Title:  Track Maintenance Foreman

Business Unit:  SGS Petroleum Service Corporation (PSC)

Department:  Operations

Exempt or Non-Exempt:  Non-Exempt

Hourly or Salary: Hourly

Primary Responsibilities:  Responsible for shift crew (Equipment Operators and Railroad Track Maintenance Technicians).  Responsible for making repairs to track infrastructure following the procedures provided by our customer.

Reporting to:  Track Maintenance Supervisor, RR Switching Supervisor’s (back up)

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Performs and ensures work is performed in accordance and to the specification of the procedures and work processes provided from out customer.
  • Conducts inspection of service equipment, track infrastructure, parts, and material.
  • Identifies, records and notifies supervision of any  nonconformance.
  • Works with the Track Maintenance Supervisor and Inspector to take corrective action to prevent recurrence of non-conformance.
  • Responsible to be knowledgeable of all related publications, processes and procedures that pertain to track maintenance work at DOW LAO.
  • Maintains a copy of all related publications and procedures.
  • Maintains Quality Records and documents all work performed.
  • Works with Leadership and DOW Rep. to meet requirements of the track infrastructure on site.
  • Ensures his work crew is working safely, following appropriate procedures for work being performed, wearing appropriate PPE and filling out their pre job hazard recognition cards.
 
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage small crews
  • Has been in a track maintenance field for a minimum of 1 year
  • Basic understanding of track infrastructure and components of tracks
  • Basic understanding of all tools needed to perform track maintenance
  • Able to read, comprehend and follow procedures/work processes
