Job Title:  Truck Inspector – Truck Control Center

Primary Responsibilities:  Responsible for ensuring accuracy between distribution and truck driver’s paperwork against all inbound and outbound vessels.
 
Work Location:  61U
 
Reporting to:  Plant Supervisor or Plant Superintendent, SGS PSC
 
Exempt or Non-Exempt:  Non-Exempt
 
Hourly or Salary:  Hourly
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accuracy between distribution and truck driver’s paperwork against all inbound & outbound vessels
  • Verify that all trailer numbers, shipment numbers, seal numbers, placards, products, etc.
  • Match all sets of paperwork as well as the vessel itself
  • Ensure inbound vessel is acceptable for loading at this facility, including prior cargo restrictions, required equipment & adhere to all Dow requirements
  • Ensure outbound vessel is free of leaks and approved for transit according to DOT standards
  • Read and comprehend any special instructions on paperwork to ensure that the vessel has met all requirements if applicable
  • Troubleshoot, escalate and / or mitigate problems when a discrepancy is found
  • Ensure that all truck drivers adhere to the site’s safety expectations.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with other employees, customers & truck drivers on a daily basis
  • Complete system input into the SAP computer software system
  • Follow job specific procedures at all times
  • Ability to learn customer and area-specific requirements and keep up with changes or new procedures.
Skills/Qualifications:
Must have the ability to speak, write, read, hear and have good vision.  Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of said PPE. The physical requirements for this position include the following: Lift 60 pounds floor to waist, push and pull 30 pounds horizontally, carry 20 pounds while walking, climb stairs, stand 8-12 hours per day, climb ladders, extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting.
 
Minimum Job Requirements: 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.; stable work history with good references from past employers; pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
