Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation, an SGS Company the leader in the petrochemical material handling industry. We are growing and seeking an Industrial Operations Supervisor to join our team at a brand new, state-of-the-art chemical plant and packaging facility in the Baytown, Texas area. This role will oversee and support the PSC workgroup that is responsible for the safe and efficient warehouse and forklift operations. The Industrial Operations Supervisor will engage with site leaders and field employees to ensure that all operations under his or her direction are striving to achieve excellent performance in the areas of safety, quality and efficient production.

 

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures systems and processes are in place to drive safety, quality and efficient work performance by the workgroup.
  • Receives instructions from planning and clearly communicates goals for execution around operating performance and ensures that they are understood.
  • Discusses, plans and organizes allocation of resources in a specific shift.
  • Has direct participation in planning, safety meetings and overall training initiatives to model appropriate behavior for our field employees.
  • Assists in development and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety instructions.
  • Performs safety observations in the field to establish high visibility with employees and the customer.
  • Reviews safety observation forms completed and identifies trends or areas of concern.
  • Ensures that all incidents are investigated and participates directly in significant incidents (i.e. employee injuries, equipment damage, etc.).
  • Ensures that training is being conducted in alignment with PSC and the customer's best practices, including auditing of records and informal participation in employee qualification process.
  • Monitors and reports operational performance within the workgroup.
  • Supports field employees with performance improvements and helps establish effective corrective actions.
  • Works closely with the field employees and customer to identify efficiencies and help implement them.
  • Ensures positive recognition is occurring for good performance and personally participate in recognition events where possible.
  • Provides one-on-one and group coaching to develop field employees.
  • Effectively communicates and implements company policy changes.
  • Ensures a safe, clean work environment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in leadership or supervision role is preferred.
  • Experience overseeing a warehouse, packaging or industrial operation is a plus.
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures a plus.
