Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is looking for a motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and become an integral part of our Information Technology team. The IT Application Specialist is responsible for supporting our application environment by collaborating with other IT team members, internal customers and vendors. This position requires an individual with the ability to identify opportunities for improved user experience and efficiencies while working hand in hand with our internal customers. In addition, a background in a development language is desired for this role, providing the basis for support of our existing applications. The candidate must be comfortable with providing some technical / desktop support to internal customers as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides application level technical support
  • Understands our business solutions and each integration point to appropriately diagnose and expediently support our internal customers
  • Identifies architectural requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing and proposed systems; recommending solutions to infrastructure
  • Creates well-structured project plans, engaging with stakeholders as needed and driving projects to completion on time and budget
  • Adheres to current documentation methodologies and contributes to existing knowledgebase
  • Steers internal discussions to prioritize software enhancements and software projects
  • Supports users in troubleshooting Microsoft Office suite and supports Microsoft Operating Systems as needed, including use of remote access tools
  • Assists with setup and deployment of new computers and devices
  • Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
  • Works independently under remote supervision, and thrives in a team environment to provide support to our internal customers in a timely manner and with a positive customer service attitude
Job Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in IT Related Field
  • 5 years of experience in IT application/technical support
  • Knowledge of .Net programing (Visual Basic, Csharp)
  • Familiarity with RPG programing or iSeries is a plus
  • Basic SQL Knowledge desired
  • Experience with MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to learn and provide technical/desktop support
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Professional oral, written, technical, and business communication skills
  • Adaptability to change and able to manage competing demands, demonstrate a sense of urgency and reliability
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who takes the initiative to get things complete
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
