Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join our team at a brand-new, Greenfield petrochemical plant in Baytown, TX that will showcase state-of-the-art equipment and modern technology. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, understands, and redlines ladder diagrams, motor controls, P and ID's
  • Maintains and updates a Computerized Maintenance Management System (eMaint).
  • Creates PM schedules, work orders, updates job status, pulls parts from stock, and gives detailed project closeout descriptions
  • Obtains all information, parts and tools required for the crafts to perform the work: drawings, vendor manual or any instructional material
  • Updates missing procedures, additional parts, tool lists, etc. that need implementation before the work is assigned next time
  • Coordinates with maintenance, operations, vendors and contractors
  • Estimates labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job
  • Improves shutdown efficiencies and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Installs, maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and creates/updates documentation on electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Adheres to site permitting requirements and participates in lock out tag out activities
  • Operates various electrical test equipment (digital multi-meters, meggers, HART communicators, Smart Line transmitters, and works with the Honeywell Field Devise Manager through the DCS)
  • Partakes in regularly scheduled Plant, Maintenance, and Safety meetings
  • Embraces Process Safety Management and the Management of Change concept
Job Qualifications:
  • Experience in the petrochemical / industrial industry
  • Experience in an Instrumentation / Electrical role (ex. IE, EI)
  • Experience in a step-up role in Maintenance, Project, Turn-around planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Computer Tracking Systems/Databases
  • Experience in relevant technical aspects including PSM compliance, DOT pipeline maintenance, liquefied gas storage, facility maintenance and basic chemical manufacturing processes are preferred
  • NCCER, Journeyman, or equivalent electrical certification is preferred
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
