Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering procurement functions, including solicitation, issuance and evaluation; purchasing of all commodities and services; and maintenance of vendor databases. Performs work requiring considerable independence, initiative and judgment to resolve a variety of complex procurement problems.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Establishes effective working relations with vendors to determine industry capabilities, potential vendors, market conditions and other information for preparing requests for bids or proposals.
  • Create and manage requisitions from start to finish.
  • Responsible for all site purchases, making sure sites receive items in a timely manner.
  • Responsive to company needs; provides basic guidance to sites and vendors on the procurement process; and resolves vendor/site complaints.
  • Independently reviews requests for purchasing approval; and develops and implements policies to govern the procurement of commodities/services in assigned areas to improve purchasing efficiency and achieve policy goals.
  • Initiates and processes requests for quotations/proposals for department purchases, researching, evaluating and making appropriate selection of commodity or service.
  • Assist with projects to improve procurement processes.
  • Responsible for supplier communication to resolve transactional issues.
  • Responsible for resolving invoice price and terms discrepancies to enable order processing.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of purchasing/procurement experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
  • Experience with Oracle purchasing
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines on a consistent basis
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Minimum Job Requirements: 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.; stable work history with good references from past employers; pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
