Job Summary: PSC is seeking a Leadman to work at a chemical plant in Baton Rouge. The Leadman is a working leader with responsibility over approximately ten employees assigned to a specific post. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of industrial related experience in a leadership role. (Railcar loading/Switching is a plus)

 

Work Schedule: 12 Hour Rotating Shift (Days/Nights/Weekends)

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create schedule for shift post operations
  • Responsible for handling and scheduling shift overtime
  • Assign trainees with trainer
  • Weekly evaluate trainee’s progress
  • Follow and ensure employees comply with company’s Loss Prevention System (LPS)
  • Lead start of shift safety meetings
  • Assign daily job tasks
  • Attend customer production meetings
  • Verify warehouse inventory and make orders when necessary
  • Ensure all procedures are being followed
  • Update procedures as needed
  • Conduct weekly task observations
  • Monitor housekeeping
  • Investigate and report all incidents, injuries & near misses
  • Understand and implement new hire Short Service Worker program (SSW)
  • Follow company fatigue management program
  • Responsible for record retention

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one year industrial related experience in a leadership role
  • TWIC Card
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. of force occasionally
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, talk, hear and have good vision
  • Ability to work outside in environmental conditions which at time include extreme heat or extreme cold
