Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is hiring a Plant Shipping Coordinator that has a safety-mindset with production and / or logistics experience to join our team at a large industrial chemical plant operations in the Charleston area. The primary responsibility is to act as a coordinator and monitor all vessel shipments per customer requirements. This is a regular full-time position with potential advancement opportunities. Work Schedule: 7AM – 3PM or 3PM – 11PM (Shift Rotation, Includes Weekends) Rotating days off.

Pay: Competitive hourly wages, based on experience. Includes a comprehensive benefits package. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the business and service relationship with a contractual customer to ensure their specific requirements including: service expectations, commodity handling, facility protocol and hours of operations are understood and complied with
  • Manage and coordinate all contractually obligated shipments via an established carrier base using; primarily, a predetermined route guide(s) to ensure adequate capacity to meet customer demands
  • Actively monitor all shipments to ensure safe and timely delivery while complying with all State and Federal regulations and customer / PSC company policies
  • Ensure accuracy between distribution and truck driver’s paperwork against all inbound & outbound vessels
  • Verify all trailer numbers, shipment numbers, seal numbers, placards, products, etc.
  • Ensure inbound vessel is acceptable for loading at this facility by verifying prior cargo restrictions, all equipment required and the vessel adheres to all customer requirements
  • Act as a liaison between customer and transportation providers/carriers and customer service representative
  • Provide outstanding customer service by handling and responding to all customer inquiries in a timely manner and providing accurate updates to customer throughout shipping/delivery process
  • Investigate and / or mitigate any discrepancies found with the vessel by proficiently resolving all shipment related issues to ensure on-time pickup and delivery
  • Ensure that all truck drivers adhere to the site’s safety expectations.
  • Complete all data entry into the SAP and Microsoft Office Suite computer software system
  • Ability to learn customer and area-specific requirements and keep up with changes or new procedures.
Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum two year associates degree or equivalent experience in production and / or shipping coordinator role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • SAP or Inventory System experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
  • Excellent communication, customer service, relationship building and time management skills
  • Shows initiative, great attitude and is easily adaptive to change
  • Must be able to follow OSHA safety standards and be safety conscious always
  • Must possess a valid TWIC card & driver's license
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
