Primary Responsibilities: This position serves as the PSC Site Leader and provides leadership and supervision to all PSC employees assigned to the site. Responsibilities include activities to ensure that all employees follow policies and procedures required to ensure that terminal operations are conducted in a safe, environmentally sound, and efficient manner. Responsible to perform various duties as directed by the customer to ensure efficient, compliant and safe operation of the facility.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide specific direction to PSC employees on a daily basis on the work activities that need to be accomplished.

  • Conduct daily safety discussion with all crew members and ensure that expectations around safety and environmental performance are clearly understood. Help drive a proactive safety culture. This includes performing regular field audits and in general spending an adequate amount of time in the field working with our employees.

  • Administer both “for cause” and random drug and alcohol screens

  • Ensure employees understand what our expectations are and establish standards on performance for the entire workgroup

  • Hold regular communications with the customer and PSC management to ensure important issues are being shared and addressed in a timely fashion.

  • Take responsibility for tracking employees’ time and accurately reporting the time to PSC home office and the customer to ensure the appropriate pay and billing.

  • Track data around Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), and participate in quarterly review with the customer.

  • Take charge of all initial incident investigations concerning PSC operations. This includes follow-up on action items and counseling/disciplinary action with employees.

  • Coordinate staffing needs for normal operations including coverage for absence, vacation, and relief coverage as required in all of the areas. Make recommendations on staffing needs to the customer and PSC management. Actively participate in the recruiting and interviewing process to ensure quality employees are hired.

  • Ensure the proper training and certification of all employees is maintained including required DOT and OSHA requirements.

  • Coordinate the scheduling for railcar and truck activity using the processes and systems provided by the customer.

  • Ensure maintenance issues are identified and appropriate processes are established to conduct maintenance. This includes identifying minor maintenance that can be performed by PSC operators and ensuring this work is done in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Coordinate maintenance services from third party providers per established guidelines with the customer. Issue work permits as required in conjunction with maintenance activities and prepare equipment including lockout/tagout.

  • Ensure that data and reports required by the customer Compliance Mgr are gathered and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with the customer to establish and maintain agreements with 3rd party service providers to ensure that outside services and supplies meet the needs of the facility.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5 years of leadership experience (supervising / managing) preferably in the terminal operations, petrochemical, or refining industry.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish goals, priorities, and expectations to obtain optimal performance.

Minimum Job Requirements: 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.; stable work history with good references from past employers; pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; and speak fluent English.
