Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is expanding at a brand new, petrochemical manufacturing plant in Baytown, TX where we will be one of the only facilities in the United States performing this chemical process operation. This greenfield chemical plant will showcase state-of-the-art equipment and modern technology. The Plant Mechanical Technician will initially start with the development of plans, systems, and procedures to meet the core objectives of facility operations. This role will play an integral role within the Maintenance Department by ensuring proper operation, installation, and continuous improvement of all things mechanical. Work Schedule: Rotating shift (Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays with Days Off.) 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, understands, and redlines documents including isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, structural diagrams, P&ID’s, and vendor literature.
  • Installs, maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and creates/updates documentation on mechanical equipment including but not limited to pipe, valves, actuators, and structural steel.
  • Replaces pumps, motors, valves, and other mechanical items found within a petrochemical facility.
  • Provides preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment including but not limited to pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and actuators.
  • Solicits and supervises work from outside contractors.
  • Operates rigging equipment, hand and power tools, and heavy machinery such as fork trucks or pickers.
  • Reviews and executes programs, procedures, and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in Lock Out Tag Out activities. Adheres to site permitting requirements.
  • Operates a Computerized Maintenance Management System (eMaint). Creates WO’s, updates job status, pulls parts from stock, and gives detailed project closeout descriptions.
  • Works safely keeping your own and others personal wellbeing in mind at all times.
  • Provides support and input to peers on the team.
  • Partakes in regularly scheduled Plant, Maintenance, and Safety meetings.
  • Shares information/best practices/lessons learned with peers and supervision.
  • Seeks input and collaboration on difficult issues and problems.
  • Participates in any appropriate cross functional teams.
  • Embraces Process Safety Management and the Management of Change concept.
Job Qualifications:
  • 2 + years of experience in a mechanical / maintenance role within the petrochemical industry is preferred
  • NCCER, American Welding Society or equivalent welding certification is preferred, but not required
  • General knowledge of PSM compliance, DOT pipeline maintenance, liquefied gas storage, facility maintenance and / or basic chemical manufacturing processes are preferred, but not required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Speak fluent English
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
