Job Summary: Petroleum Service Corporation is seeking an Entry Level Refinery Sampler to join our team at a refinery in Corpus Christi, TX. This role is responsible for monitoring the levels of shore tanks and assuring the integrity of product through the regular collection of samples and transporting samples to the lab for analysis. Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available. This is a full-time position with potential advancement opportunities. Work Schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts. (4 days on, 4 days off)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Travel to jobsite per shift rotation, and as instructed by the lab
  • Carry all equipment supplies to vehicle, ensuring that all equipment necessary to complete the job is readily available
  • Visually inspect that the lab truck is in good condition to begin work. Complete any minor maintenance on the lab truck to include ensuring that it is clean and adding any levels to the oil or fuel, as needed
  • Meet with outgoing shift sampler, perform relief and receive instructions from the lead tester in the lab for the remainder of the shift
  • Follow specific sampling / gauging procedures given by the facility.
  • Complete all sample tags / labels to prepare for delivery to the lab
  • Carry all supplies or samples to and from vehicle
  • Interface with the customer and lab personnel throughout the facility while delivering supplies, picking up samples, or entering units throughout the shift
  • Be knowledgeable of facility units and tank farms for sampling and delivering of supplies
  • Communicate with the lead tester to ensure that the samples are collected or delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner
Job Qualifications:
  • TWIC card in hand required.
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 60 to 80 pounds to waist and carry up to 300 feet
  • Grip/hold/pull 80 pounds
  • Walk one to four miles per job
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Step as much as two feet horizontal and vertical
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
